What to Expect

Here at The Lisa Lowe Centre we recognise that walking through the door, along with looking for help can feel like the hardest step in recovery.

When visiting the centre you are purposely welcomed into a non-clinical environment that we hope makes every client feel like they are visiting a friend at home rather than a clinic for excellence.

We are in fact proud that we offer a complete service for mental health from counsellors to a Professor of Psychology, each as important to their particular client’s needs.

Many people would never get to see the inside of our centre, so could not imagine what to expect.

Don’t just take it from us though; here are some testimonials from some of our clients.

“The premises are beautiful and very homely. It almost gives you a big hug when you walk through the door.”

“Walking into The Lisa Lowe Centre when I have been feeling anxious and depressed has been a joy – everyone knew my name from the beginning – I cannot put into words how wonderful it was to be a part of this when my world felt as though it was falling apart.”

Stress and anxiety

Having a mental health problem is no different to having a physical health problem. It’s a matter of recognising the symptoms, finding a way of treating them and taking steps to prevent the problem happening again by looking after your mental health.

Ignoring mental health problems will not make them go away.

The service

The Lisa Lowe Centre is an established Island based organisation on that provides full-time psychological services for people affected by mental health issues. The service follows UK National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidance and is led by a consultant clinical psychologist. Therapies are provided by experienced and registered psychologists, psychotherapists and counsellors.

Why people contact us

Modern life has a habit of throwing all sorts of obstacles at us that can become difficult to deal with. Traumatic events can present themselves without warning and after a natural grieving period has passed sometimes unanswered questions can weigh heavily on someone.

Confidentiality

Except in very specific circumstances, conversations with your therapist are confidential.

However, a therapist may break confidentiality, if there is an immediate danger or threat to safety.
